Last week, the longest government shutdown in history ended. For most of us, this brought immediate financial relief. Unfortunately, the government reopening has not resolved many challenges we experience at the Social Security Administration.

We are still understaffed, underpaid and overworked. We are still fighting to improve our jobs and our ability to serve millions of Americans who need our help.

That’s why, AFGE’s Social Security Workers United is holding a town hall on Monday because while the government shutdown is ending, we know our challenges at the SSA are not.

Now, more than ever, we must organize to fix the problems at the Social Security Administration to better serve recipients. Together, we can face future challenges head-on and fight to keep Social Security strong. Join us to talk about what needs to be done. Click here to register.
